Paperless Office: Why should we have a paperless office?
66What is a Paperless office?
With all the Hype Obama is giving to going paperless, I thought I would comment on why should we go paperless?.
First of all; what is a paperless office?
A paperless office is one that is using some sort of software to store the day to day operation of the business. This can be from just having an accounting software that does billing, payroll etc, to a database for client records, keeping an inventory , storing scanned documents or running statisical analysis on your databases.
A paperless office uses email more than snail mail and may even be set up for eletronic online billing.
No matter how basic or advanced a paperless office is, there will be some small amount of paper generated but the huge filing cabinates will slowly become a thing of the past.
Not a Paperless office

One reason is to save help reduce our footprint. For some people that may not be enough or they may think it is just jumping on the latest band wagon.
Well if not for the envirnment then do it because it makes sense. How? Consider this... have you ever had to search a mountain of paper for a bill, receipt or bit of information? Frustrating does not even begin to describe it.

Good morning Carolyn;
A very well written piece, easy to read, to the point, with good information. It's easy to see what your business is, or is going to be.
I will not be surprised to see this article go to the first page of google in the next couple of days.
Keep on going girl, write more Hubs, it's
It sounds like a great idea to go paperless, but now I have tons of data stored on my computer AND tons of paper copies that I try to keep organized in notebooks. Just can't seem to get used to reading things online. What about your experience with Renegade? Do you just look at stuff online, or do you print out checklists, etc.?
I think this is a great idea and wouldn't be surprised if many of us who do business online already have a mostly paperless office. I'm not so big on "save the trees", because they are a renewable resource. But there is a certain value in having a less cluttered life and the less paper the less clutter.
I liked the picture of the office. About a year ago I was in someones office that looked something like that.
Interesting. I like this article. There are tons of ways to help out with saving your time and the environment. This is a great example of that. Thank you.
Thanks for the share. This is good information.
